OK, again we’ve been a bit late posting these tracks.
Ms. Ellie Goulding has been on our proverbial radar for a fair while now.
It has been interesting to watch her development on MySpace over the last 18 months or so ago from an arty folkster to an artsy pop princess elect.
Whilst she has only really come into the public consciousness since her appearance on Jules Holland, and through her winning the BBC Sound of 2010 poll we believe that the real tipping point for her was when her cover version of Passion Pit’s Sleepyhead first started pinging around the blogosphere last summer.
Doing a cover or a remix of a buzzy blog friendly artist is increasingly becoming a tried and tested trick. Out and out remakes (a la Ellie Goulding’s take on Sleepyhead) tend to cause even more of a buzz than blog hit-esque remixes. Another case in point is The XX’s remake of Florence And The Machine’s We Got The Love.
Anyway, rather than share some of her tracks which have been blogged to death we’ve decided to post a few of her early demos which have slipped under the radar..until now.
