We seem to be a bit behind on The Vanguard seeing as they’re about to release their second album, but the rest of the blogosphere doesn’t seem to have cottoned onto them either so we won’t beat ourselves up about it too much.
The Vanguard are resident in New York, but that masks the fact that the band members come variously from Virginia, Poland, Serbia and Argentina. It’d be lazy to suggest that it’s the geographical diversity that leads them to combine italo-synths, skyscraping Killers-esque tunes and chiming guitars in the way they do, and we’re nothing if not lazy so that’s exactly what we’ll say.
The band is putting in a good stint at SXSW if you’re heading out there, but if not then check out a low quality version of ‘Both Sides’ below, then head over to iTunes to contribute to their petrol money.
